The mid-drive Tongsheng TSDZ2B is available in 250w and 500w power options. The motor features torque sensing power output. This gives a very natural, intuitive feeling, providing a safe, efficient experience for all types of riders. The motor activates only when the pedals are pushed, reducing the risk of accidents and providing a more natural riding experience. This makes it very easy to live with, especially great for those transitioning from a regular bike.
The Tongsheng is compatible with a very wide range of bikes. It fits easily with most bikes which have a 68 – 73mm bottom bracket. The motor kit replaces the existing bottom bracket and crankset assembly.
In practical riding terms, the motor’s torque sensors detect when subtle changes in pedaling power occur. So that when changing gears, for example, the motor works similarly to a clutch, smoothly reducing power while changing and seamlessly reengaging once pedaling continues. These power changes are smooth and virtually instant.
As well as this technology providing a smoother ride, it also reduces wear on transmission components and so reduces running costs. This is because gear changes under a larger power load result in excessive transmission wear, especially when the transmission components are not particularly clean.
The motor is activated by a 'smart, dual sided torque sensing mechanism', with several assist levels. This produces a really smooth, powerful ride experience, because the torque sensor can tell just how hard the rider is pushing the pedals. It then sends the information to the controller and onwards to the motor to provide just the right level of assist for the rider.
